Got 2018 running goals? Achieve them, injury free
There’s no two ways about it: running is a great way to maintain physical and mental health. Want the bad news? It’s estimated that runners have around a 50% chance of sustaining a musculoskeletal injury (normally in the lower extremity) within 12 months. Running injuries are disruptive and a serious risk factor for further injury in the future.
Finally, the good news: SportsTec is here to help prevent injury in the first place.
In 2018, we are introducing running rehabilitation classes led by an APA Sports Physiotherapist. The classes will focus on:
- resistance training as a method to reduce running-related overuse injuries by half
- building endurance in the muscles specifically required for effective running
- improving overall muscle strength
- discussion of different training approaches and running techniques.
Our on-site rehabilitation gym is fully equipped to help you achieve your running goals this year.
