Oliver has special interests in dance rehabilitation, chronic pain management, paediatric physiotherapy and neurological physiotherapy. He comes to physiotherapy from a strong dance background, beginning ballet at six and going on to dance with both the Australian Ballet and West Australian Ballet Companies before retiring due to injury. Oliver is passionate about dance and applying the tools for strength training and rehabilitation he gained from his dance career to assist other dancers.
To meet the demands of ballet Oliver began practising Pilates to strengthen and rehabilitate and went on to become a qualified Pilates Instructor through the Australian Pilates Method Association and ran his own Pilates business. Oliver integrates his knowledge and experience to provide a holistic treatment plan for clients.
Oliver’s enthusiasm for the arts has led him to develop a health promotion project aimed at the reduction of dance injuries, provide physiotherapy services to the leading Ballet school of Athens (KSOT), and train teachers at the Royal Academy of Dance on injury prevention.
